28mm soundproofing board reducing airborne noise through existing an ceiling structure
Ceiling soundproofing board can be applied over an existing
ceiling or as part of a new ceiling system. The NSSCC2 boards are ideal for
over boarding a ceiling to reduce airborne noise. If ceilings can not be removed
and the ceiling height can not be lowered significantly to install a full
ceiling system these boards can be used to reduce airborne noise.
Product Specification
The boards consist of two layers of 12.5mm acoustic
plasterboard which are bonded to a layer of high density rubber. The NSSC2
boards have a 2.5mm layer of rubber. The boards are bonded together using a polyurethane adhesive.

Installation
These boards can be installed below existing ceilings or as
part of a new independent ceiling system. Boards can be screwed through
existing ceilings into ceiling joists, for a better level of sound reduction
the boards should be hung from Soundbreaker bars. If you are installing a new
soundproof ceiling system these boards will increase the level of airborne
sound reduction through the ceiling compared to standard acoustic plasterboard.
boards should be screwed to joists or Soundbreaker Bars not nailed. We recommend a mimmum of 16 dry wall screws per board. Once the boards are in place you should ensure that they are sealed with an acoustic sealant around the edges. The boards can be plastered and brought up to a decorative finish.
