Premium system to soundproof ceilings, reduce high levels of impact and airborne noise.

Increase sound insulation between floors to stop high levels of airborne noise from music, TVs and shouting. Ceiling System 1 (CS1) reduces high levels of sound due to the additional layer of acoustic insulation added below the existing ceiling joists, this reduces sound transferring through the ceiling by blocking and absorbing sound that would normally pass through the ceilings structure. Use CS1 in flats and houses for maimum level of noise reduction in domestic properties without installing a new independent ceiling.

Fitting

Remove existing ceiling and infill between the joists with the 100mm DFM insulation, attach a 50mm batten to the underside of the joist, fixing them perpendicular to the joists, infill this cavity with the 50mm DFM insulation, fix soundbreaker bars to the battens at 300-350mm centres, screw the NSSC1+ panel to the bars, ensure you seal around the edges of the panels with acoustic sealant, leave a 3-5mm gap around the perimeter of the ceiling and walls, fill this area with acoustic sealant, this will help stop sound transmission from flanking noise.
