Acoustic underlay 15mm thick reduces airborne and impact noise ideal under wooden floors
Acoustic
underlay mats will reduce impact and airborne noise transferring through
floors. NSSF7+ can be laid on timber and concrete floors. The product is used
in domestic and commercial applications. NSSF7+ reduces higher levels of impact
sound transferring through laminate and wooden floor finishes than the NSSF7. Part
E compliant.

DATA SHEET
Installation
The mats
can be laid in a brick bond formation, staggering the joints reduce sound
transmission along the edges. If you are installing the NSSF7+ with perimeter
strips these should be installed before the mats. The NSSF7+ is laid inside the
perimeter strips, or butted up to the skirting board if you are not using the
strips. The mats can be cut with a sharp knife such as a Stanley knife.
Each sheet is 1200mm x 600mm so is easy to handle. Needs to be installed with no
gaps between the sheets and the joints staggered. You can bond them to
the floor or lay them loose. The edges can be tightly pushed into the
edges of the room as sound does not vibrate along the sheets.
Carpets- If carpet grippers are
required we would recommend the use of the perimetre strips around the
edge of the room to ensure the finished floor height is the same. Fix
the strips around the edge of the room then lay the NSSF7+ product inside
the perimetre strips. Attach carpet gripper rods to the strips and then
lay the carpet as normal. if you are not using carpet grippers lay the NSSF7+ up to the skirting.
Laminate
or wooden floors- We recommend that a 9mm layer of ply wood or
equivalent be bonded on top of the NSSF7+ before laying these floor
finishes. This should be checked with the installer of the flooring
materials.
NSSF7+ can help to conform to Building Regulations (Approved Document E) offering improved levels of impact and airborne sound insulation, when used on an existing timber floor.
