Ease of Use • Reduces Impact and Airborne noise • Cut
to any shape
No damage to existing floor • Fits directly under carpet • Only
10mm thick
Description
An Acoustic flooring underlay which is used extensively by private
houses, property companies, commercial businesses, housing associations,
contractors and builders. Its ease of installation makes it the
ideal product for use under carpet, as a replacement or supplement
to traditional carpet underlay. NSSF7 is ideal for those undertaking
conversions as it conforms to Building Regulations (Approved Document
E) offering improved levels of impact and airborne sound insulation,
when used on an existing floor.
The process is simple ! Just lay the NSSF7 over an existing timber
or concrete floor.
NSSF7 is an acoustic composite comprising of a layer of non flammable
foam sandwiched between two layered sheets of sound deadening damping
barrier membrane. This gives the ability to offer huge airborne
and impact reduction for only an approx 10mm thickness. Ideal for
multi-use on all surfaces, NSSF7 is widely used as a very high
quality sound reduction underlay.

Storage
Keep dry and laid flat.
Installation
Each sheet comes in 1.2m square sheets making them easy to handle,
store and fit. NSSF7 needs to be installed compactly with no gaps
between sheets and the joins staggered. You can either adhere them
to the floor or lay them loose. The edges can be tightly pushed
into the edges of the room as sound does not vibrate along the
sheets.
There are two methods of installation when using NSSF7. Method
1 with adhesive and method two without adhesive and using carpet
grippers.
Method 1 - Adhesive
Clean and secure all floorboards, this is essential for achieving
the best results. The NSSF7 membrane can be bonded to most hardwoods
and carpets. When using this method, the NSSF7 needs to be bonded
to the floor before it is bonded to the carpet.
Method 2 - Carpet grippers
A 20mm perimeter strip needs to be purchased and applied to the
perimeter of the room, this allows the gripper to be flush with
the surface of the NSSF7. To apply the strip use an adhesive on
the rear and lay into place. This creates an anti vibration layer
in which the carpet gripper can be nailed to. If the gripper is
to in contact with the skirting board, then we recommend applying
a flexible mastic bead in between the two surfaces to reduce any
transmission of sound.
If the height needs to be adjusted we recommend doubling up on
the layers of perimeter strip used.
