Sound proofing depends on the overall structure of the floor/ceiling. The following configurations have yielded the stated test results for impact and airborne sound transmission.

 |
| Floorcomp is loose laid on the chipboard floors, ensuring that sheets butt closely together; it is important that no air gaps are left between adjacent sheets or between peripheral sheets and walls. Lay a floating floor of T&g chipboard panels over the Floorcomp layer, making sure that the Floorcomp is not damaged or moved in the process. Fit flanking strip between the chipboard panels and walls/skirting. |
