| The SLM Pneumatic Isolator is a low height, low stiffness air spring suitable for both passive and dynamic applications where a support natural frequency of 3- 5 Hz is required.
Typical passive applications include the protection of vibration sensitive machinery such as 3 D Co-ordinate Measuring Machines, metrology, inspection devices and laboratory apparatus.
Dynamic applications such as Power Presses, Air Compressors and Test Beds have all been carried out using the SLM.
The SLM Isolator has a Neoprene Rubber body with steel reinforcing hoops, steel base plate and a steel top support plate
having a tapped hole.
Provided that the size of the equipment foot is not less than the C dimension of the Isolator, then the thick rubber wall will safely carry up to 10 times the maximum rated load.
Inflation is either through the 'moulded in' standard tyre valve or by adaption to a permanent air supply.
Inflation:
SLM-1 and SLM-3 maximum 4.0 bar for 3 Hz.
SLM-6 to SLM-192 maximum 5.4 bar for 3 Hz.
Passive SLM applications can be adjusted for level up to +/- 6mm
by varying the air input. Uninflated, the Isolator will provide support at a natural frequency of approximately 10 Hz. |
