The RM Isolators are manufactured in two alternative elastomeric materials.
Natural Rubber NR for maximum resilience and isolation performance.
Nitrile Rubber NBR having excellent oil & chemical resistance with increased damping properties but with a higher dynamic stiffness.
The RM ISOLATORS are designated by:
Size Diameter D & Height H
Form A,B,C D or E
Rubber Type NR or NBR
Shore Hardness 43, 57 or 68
Fixing M x L or Mi
Although stock items are generally available in rubber Shore Hardness 43 for Forms A, B & C, other Forms and Hardnesses can be supplied subject to special order.
For stock items of Forms D & E refer to the current Farrat Price List, or alternatively discuss your requirements with our Technical Sales Department.
Selection can be made by refering to the table which gives the Maximum Load (n), the Spring Rate K (N/mm) and the Static Deflection mm for Forms A, B & C when the static load is applied to deflect the rubber in Compression or Shear.
Care should be taken with the application of the RM ISOLATORS to ensure that they are not subjected to tensile loads.
If the distribution of load on a group of isolators is not uniform then it may be necessary to make a selection of different sizes. |
