Crown AcoustiTherm Wall Roll

Short Description
The Crown AcoustiTherm Independent Lining System is an internal lining system incorporating a metal framework, AcoustiTherm Wall Clips, Crown AcoustiTherm Wall Roll insulation and plasterboard. Crown AcoustiTherm Wall Roll is a roll of high density glass mineral wool, faced on one side with a vapour control layer of Kraft paper/polythene which has markings to help when measuring and cutting to size. The AcoustiTherm Wall Clip is the fixing spacer unit in the AcoustiTherm Independent Lining System. Two types are available: AcoustiTherm Wall Clip N comprises one metal clip, one nylon clip and a separating spindle and is intended for new-build applications AcoustiTherm Wall Clip R has the same components as the N clip, but also features a retaining disc for holding the insulation against the internal lining. For use in refurbishment work.
Application
AcoustiTherm Independent Lining System is intended for the insulation of exterior masonry walls in both new construction and refurbishment. The Crown AcoustiTherm insulation is held within a metal frame system that can be adjusted in terms of verticality by means of a specially designed fixing/spacer system, which is quick and convenient to install. AcoustiTherm Wall Clip N is for use in new construction. The retaining disc in the AcoustiTherm Wall Clip R holds the insulation away from the external wall, making it ideal for use in refurbishment work.
Thermal insulation
Crown AcoustiTherm Wall Roll has a thermal conductivity of 0.032 W/mK. The AcoustiTherm Wall Clips have nylon heads that act as a thermal break.
Water vapour transmission
The Kraft paper/polythene of Crown AcoustiTherm Wall Roll incorporates a vapour control layer.

Fire Performance

The glass mineral wool in Crown AcoustiTherm Wall Roll is classified as Euroclass A1 to BS EN ISO 13501-1. The fire resistance of the lining system depends principally on the type of plasterboard used. With a lining of 12.5mm standard plasterboard, the construction would achieve a half hour fire resistance.

Mechanical resistance

The AcoustiTherm Wall Clips have a pullout resistance very much higher than the value normally required from this type of system: 90daN, which is greater than 20kg force.

Form and Dimensions

Crown AcoustiTherm Wall Roll is supplied in polythene packs, on pallets. AcoustiTherm Wall Clip N is available in nominal lengths of 75, 85 and 100mm and supplied in boxes of 50. AcoustiTherm Wall Clip R is 180mm long and supplied in boxes of 50. The retaining discs are sold separately in boxes of 100.
