Polyfoam High Impact and Upstand Board
Short Description
Fire Performance
Polyfoam High Impact and Upstand Board is faced with a 6mm fibre reinforced cement board which offers excellent fire performance as a facing material and Polyfoam insulation which contains a flame retardant to inhibit localised ignition.

The facing board is classified as Class 1 surface spread of flame to BS476: Part 7: 1987.
Compression resistance
The strength of Polyfoam offers a wider range of potential solutions to design problems.
Moisture resistance
Polyfoam is highly resistant to moisture absorption and can be installed in a damp area or during moist conditions with minimal impact on the performance of the product. The facing material is moisture resistant.
Thermal insulation
Polyfoam High Impact and Upstand board is a high performance insulated laminate, with aged quoted thermal performance values which are virtually unaffected by moisture on site.

The actual performance in use of Polyfoam High Impact and Upstand Board is outlined in the attached application section U-Value tables.

Handling and Storage
Polyfoam High Impact and Upstand board is supplied on pallets, labelled with identifying product and manufacturing data.

The boards are easy to handle and nonirritant, when cutting through the facing material it is advisable to wear a facemask to guard against dust. No special protective clothing is required.

Polyfoam products should not be left exposed to prolonged sunlight as this will result in surface degradation. Where outside storage for extended periods is required cover with opaque/light coloured sheeting.

The facing board on Polyfoam High Impact and Upstand board should have edges and corners protected to prevent chipping, they should also be covered on site to prevent them getting wet. If boards do get wet allow them to dry thoroughly before installation.

Ensure the boards are not stored close to open flame or other ignition source, also avoiding volatile compounds and chemicals such as solvents.
Application
Polyfoam High Impact and Upstand Board is used for the thermal insulation and lining of various structures, walls and roofs. A widely used and flexible solution, the board is:
  • both thermally and structurally strong
  • capable of solving many design problems
  • a good thermal performer
  • structurally stable in the long term
  • easy to install
For Upstands in roofing, a combination of strength and ease of use are key performance requirements. For Agricultural, Soffits or other linings the strength, fire performance and potential for easy cleaning of the solution are also important.

The following range of applications are some of the key areas of use of Polyfoam High Impact and Upstand Board:
  • Upstand in flat roofing
  • Lining board for Agricultural buildings or similar
  • Soffit/intermediate floor insulation and lining
