Polyfoam Combi-Closer

Short Description
Polyfoam Combi-Closer comprises Polyfoam high performance, 100% ozone friendly, extruded polystyrene, rigid board insulation semi-enclosed in a rigid PVC casing. Polyfoam Combi-Closer is available in either 75 or 100 and can be adjusted on site to fit a range of cavity widths.
Fire Performance
Polyfoam Combi-Closer contains a flame retardant to inhibit localised ignition. When contained within a cavity wall behind a plaster or similar finish it will not prejudice the fire resistance of the wall.
Acoustic Performance
Polyfoam Combi-Closer provides a damp proof barrier between the outer and inner leafs. The casing and the Polyfoam core are both highly moisture resistant. The casing has a flexible strip attached to fit into the rear of door and window frames to act as an extra damp proof seal.

Thermal insulation
Polyfoam Combi-Closer utilises a high performance insulant, with aged quoted thermal performance values which are virtually unaffected by moisture on site. It easily complies with the thermal requirements for cavity closers in the England and Wales Building Regulations for preventing thermal bridging at openings.

Handling and Storage

Polyfoam Combi-Closer is supplied in polythene packs, labelled with identifying product and manufacturing data. The lengths are easy to handle and non-irritant, no special protective clothing is required to install them. Polyfoam products should not be left exposed to prolonged sunlight as this will result in surface degradation. Where outside storage for extended periods is required cover with opaque/light coloured sheeting. Ensure they are not stored close to open flame or other ignition source, also avoiding volatile compounds and chemicals such as solvents.

Application

Polyfoam Combi-Closer is used between the inner and outer leafs of masonry cavity walls at openings, it:

provides a thermal and waterproofing break between the inner and outer leafs that complies with the England and Wales Building Regulations
can be either built into a new construction or retro-fitted as an upgrading measure
is a unique, patented multi fit solution that can be adjusted to fit on site reducing waste
allows some construction tolerance to the user
can be used in any masonry wall cavity application
can be jointed simply to reduce waste

Polyfoam Combi-Closer is recommended for the following wall constructions:

Partial Fill Cavity Walls in refurbishment and new build
Full fill cavity walls in refurbishment and new build

Polyfoam Combi-Closer has a Moisture Absorption by Volume of 0.20% and Continuous Service Temperature Limits of -50°C to +75°C.
