Rocksilk Acoustic Floor Slab

Short Description
A dense rock mineral wool slab for the acoustic insulation of separating floors to meet the `deemed to satisfy` solution in Technical Standard H of the Scottish Building Regulations, and the guidance in Approved Document E (England and Wales). This product is supplied in weatherproof Supakube packaging which is very easy to unload, ideal for outside storage which frees up internal stock space.
Standards
The mineral wool of Rocksilk Acoustic Floor Slab is non-combustible inorganic rock wool, defined as mineral wool in BS 3533, manufactured in accordance with BSI Quality Assurance Standard BS EN ISO 9001: 2000.
Fire Performance
Rocksilk Acoustic Floor Slab is classified as Euroclass A1 to BS EN ISO 13501-1
Permanence
Rocksilk Acoustic Floor Slab is rot proof, does not sustain vermin and will not encourage the growth of fungi, mould or bacteria, and is odourless and non-hygroscopic. It is non-wicking when tested in accordance with BS 2972:1989 Section 12. When exposed to 90% relative humidity and 20ºC Rocksilk Acoustic Floor Slab absorbs less than 0.004% of moisture.
Certification
In the opinion of the British Board of Agrément, Rocksilk Acoustic Floor Slab and Rocksilk Acoustic Floor Slab Plus are fit for their intended use provided they are installed, used and maintained as set out in Certificate No 97/3433.

Application

For the acoustic insulation of timber separating floors.

Installation

In accordance with Approved Document E of the Building Regulations and H of the Scottish Technical Standards Rocksilk Acoustic Floor Slab is laid directly over the floor deck which is in turn overlaid with a floating layer consisting of a 19mm plasterboard plank, which in turn is overlaid with 18mm thick timber or wood based boards which are spot bonded to the plasterboard plank.
