Short Description
Standards
The mineral wool of Rocksilk Krimpact Facade Slab is non-combustible inorganic rock wool, defined as mineral wool in BS 3533 and is manufactured in accordance with BSI Quality Assurance Standard BS EN ISO 9001: 2000.
Fire Performance
Rocksilk Krimpact Facade Slab is classified as Euroclass A1 ENISO 13501-1. The rock mineral wool in Rocksilk Krimpact Facade Slab products has an extremely high melting point of over 1000°C. In the event of fire they will emit negligible quantities of smoke and fumes. The heat emission from the products is insignificant.
Thermal Performance
Rocksilk Krimpact Facade Slab has a thermal conductivity of 0.037 W/mK.
Permanence
The rock mineral wool of Rocksilk Krimpact Facade Slab is non-hygroscopic and is treated to ensure its water repellency. It is odourless, rot proof, does not sustain vermin and will not encourage the growth of fungi, mould or bacteria.
Moisture Resistance
Rocksilk Krimpact Facade Slab contains a water repellent silicone binder to ensure that no liquid water is able to pass through the slab and reach the existing masonry during installation and construction.
Handling and Storage
Rocksilk Krimpact Facade Slab is supplied in polythene packs, stacked on pallets for temporary protection during transit or on site. For longer term outside storage (stock or site) the pallets should be stored under a secure waterproof covering.
Application
For use in residential and non-residential solid wall constructions with external wall insulation systems, Rocksilk Krimpact Facade Slab offers both thermal and acoustic benefits. The slabs can be either adhered and mechanically fixed or solely mechanically fixed (this will differ according to the system being used) to the substrate then overlaid with a mesh and render system to the designers/system suppliers specification. No fire stops are required and the slabs offer a solid and robust supporting substrate for the render in use. The user can also be confident of the safety of a system that employs Rocksilk Krimpact Facade Slab due to the highest A1 fire classification offered by the insulation.
