Installation

Rocksilk Pitched Roof Slab should be laid across the finished rafters, from the eaves, with all boards tightly butted and with staggered joints. The boards can be cut to length to match the centres of the rafters. Knauf Breatheline should be laid over the Rocksilk Pitched Roof Slab, pullled taut, and secured to the rafters with counter battens. The counterbattens should be fixed through the Rocksilk Pitched Roof slabs using spiral fixings, such as Helifix Inskew 600 or Buildex RG, a minimum penetration into the rafter of 35mm is required.

Tiling battens should then be secured to the counterbattens. Rocksilk Rafter Slabs are simply friction fitted between the rafters, they should be pushed up to be in direct contact with the Rocksilk Pitched Roof Slab, with no air gaps between the two layers of insulation. Alternatively Knauf Breatheline can be installed draped in the traditional manner between the two sets of battens.
