Floor soundproofing can be used to reduce noise on floors areas. There are various solutions including a sound insulation mat, cavity infill and floating floor systems.
We have many soundproofing materials available to sound proof floors, with soundproofing solutions for both floor impact noise and airborne noise. The type of noise problem would determine which material would be most suitable. For example if the noise problem is impact noise to rooms below materials such as the sound proofing matting NSSF7 or the NSSF7 Plus would be ideal. If the problem is conversational noise or television noise from below, filling the floor cavity with Dense Fibre Matting or Acoustic Noise Stop Roll along with an acoustic underlay would give excellent levels of reduction.
Floating floors such as the Noise Deck Range or Monarfloor offer high levels of impact reduction and can be used direct to joist or on to existing timber floors depending on the product. For Building Regulations Part E the Noise Deck 36 System is highly recommended. This system is to include the Dense Fibre Matting 100mm 45kg/m3, the Noise Stop Isolation Tape 30mm and a double boarded ceiling on to resilient bars (Soundbreaker Bars).
