Monarfloor® Acoustic Batten system is designed to reduce sound transmission through a concrete deck or timber subfloor. Monarfloor Acoustic Batten consists of a layer of LRAC foam bonded to a softwood batten.
When installed as part of a complete sound reduction system it enables a concrete or timber floor to meet the sound transmission regulations of Part E (see tables).

Specification
The acoustic insulant shall be:
Monarfloor Acoustic Batten system, manufactured by Icopal Ltd, Lyon Way, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL4 0LB.
Install Monarfloor Acoustic Batten in accordance with relevant specification clauses and design details.
Installation
- Fix Monarfloor Acoustic Flanking Band at the floor perimeter, in accordance with installation instructions.
- Lay Monarfloor Acoustic Batten foam side down, at 400mm max. centres for 18mm chipboard flooring or 500mm max. centres for 22mm chipboard flooring.
- Apply Monarfloor adhesive to the top of Acoustic Batten and lay flooring, applying adhesive to all panel joints.
- Install skirting and trim off excess Flanking Band.
