NoiseSonic E Installation Guide

All preparatory site and sub floor work should be in compliance with the given specifications

  1. The sub floor should be clear and level and the wall construction should be ready. Thoroughly check the sub floor, fill in any open cracks and remove any residue that would interfere with the NoiseSonic E.
  2. Apply the NoiseStop Isolation Tape to the wall or vertical partition, including doorframes, surrounding the perimeter of the sub floor receiving the NoiseSonic E system and around the perimeter of any protrusion through the floor. Never attach the perimeter barrier mechanically, unless in the area of isolation to be removed when the floor is finished.
  3. Lay NoiseSonic E directly over the sub floor with the black mesh down and the grey fabric side up. NoiseSonic E should be pushed up tightly to the isolation barrier previously installed around the perimeter floor.
  4. Connection must be made with abut joint of the black spacer and overlapping the butt joint, with the 100mm filter fabric overstand. Connection in length direction can be made with a butt joint, or by cutting 100mm of the core only and use the filter overstand for overlapping the butt joint. Tape all overlaps and joints between NoiseSonic E strips and between strips and the perimeter with duct or cellophane tape at least 50mm wide. All seams must be taped in order to prevent any mortar from flowing into the spacer. In case concrete or mortar of very low viscosity (high slump) is used it may be advisable to use a 0.2mm thick polyethylene sheet on top of the NoiseSonic E filter fabric.
  5. Install the mortar bed according to the project specifications and taking into account the deflection of NoiseSonic E.
  6. After the finished floor is installed, trim the perimeter isolation barrier at an angle of 45º and 5mm below the finished flooring. Fill the grove with a bead of acoustic sealant.
