NoiseStop Wall Application

Installation
- Prepare the wall by removing all items attached thereon. Remove skirting, coving, sockets and any switches. If you are not fully conversant with electricity and electrical items then this is best dealt with by a qualified electrician
- Cut a 50mm strip out of the ceiling along the full length of the wall to allow the laminated panels to be inserted and sit just below the underside of the floor above. Make sure you do not cut too deeply and perhaps catch any cables or services within the void.
- Check the wall area inside this void to the top of the wall and ensure there are no gaps and holes. If gaps and holes are present, fill with a suitable material. For large areas we would recommend using dense fibre matting, smaller areas a mortar mix or very small gaps an acoustic sealant. THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT PART OF THE PROCESS
- If the above ‘cutting’ is not suitable for you property then you can apply dense fibre matting between the joists to achieve the same results. Access would be required by lifting any relevant flooring or via the loft void.
- At the lower section of the wall where it meets the floor you will inevitably find gaps and holes, these need the same attention as in point 3.
- Before the application of the panels to your wall we suggest that dense fibre matting is applied between the joists, to absorb any sound transference below the floor level. This only needs to be done for the full length of the wall to a maximum of 1m from the wall.
- Starting at the lower left hand side of the wall, affix the panels to form a tight fit to the wall, using a high strength adhesive. Before the panel is fixed into place apply a large bead of acoustic sealant around the panel to seal the boards together and the boards to the walls. Repeat the process for the whole installation. Wipe away any excess from the face of the panel.
- Remember to cut the panels to size and shape before you apply the adhesive or the acoustic sealant.
- Take care to insert the panel into the ceiling void and ensure there is a tight fit around the joists and with each other.
- Using the acoustic sealant fill all joints and gaps but keep a clean even surface over all the area.
- To finish the whole area needs to be plastered with multiskim finish. This is best achieved by a professional.
