| Soundproofing Walls: NSSW2+ Installation |

Wall Installation Instructions

Tools needed: Sharp trimming knife, handsaw, Flexible mastic with dispensing gun, Bucket, Trowel,
Phase 1
- All skirting and coving is to be removed
- Any wallpaper on the wall will need to be removed or gloss/silk paint scored.
- Make sure the wall is clean and that all dust is wiped away.
- Before the installation commences we recommend you lift some of the floor boards and inspect the wall area below the floor level. Dense Fibre matting at a minimum 50mm should have been provided to infill these areas as necessary. Further matting is available on request.
- Replace the floor boards as these will act as a solid base for the system.
- Once section 5 is complete the main installation can begin. You can start in the bottom left or bottom right corner, the choice is yours. Offer your first panel to the wall making sure it sits square and there are no gaps down the wall edge. If there is a gap, trim the edge of the board to the angle of the wall until the panel sits flush and square. (You can use a handsaw, jigsaw, circular saw or sharp blade depending on the severity of the cut.) This will make the rest of the installation much easier.
- Mix a bag of drywall adhesive which will cover approximately 8 panels. The consistency can be made quite wet but always remember to mix every bag the same, otherwise you may find some panels edges wont match. Use the manufacturers recommended procedure, following all safety instructions.
- Apply the drywall adhesive to the rear of your first NSSW2 panel. We recommend an even spread of 16 ‘blobs’ the size of your fist in four rows of four. Or alternatively you can smear the adhesive on the full area.
- You can now place the panel on the wall but leave a temporary 10mm gap along the wall edge. With your flexible mastic run a bead down the edge of the panel in the 10mm gap you’ve just left. Now push the panel tightly into the wall leaving no gap. This will create a complete seal to the wall.
- Apply the flexible mastic to all the remaining edges that are visible. You have now installed your first panel ! Follow this routine with every panel.
- Work along the bottom row in the same manner as above, trimming any panels as needed.
- Start the second row from where the first ended to give the sheets a staggered joint. Again follow the same procedure as from point 6. Getting the first panel flush and square will make the rest of the installation easier. Cut and trim any further panels as needed.
