Fitting DFM
A good understanding of DIY is all you need to install our DFM slabs in your home. You can cut them to size with a hand saw or sharp knife. We recommend cutting them slightly larger than your opening to allow for a friction fit and increased sound insulation.
The DFM range comes with a choice of density, this is how compacted the slab is (not the weight). The range in density is kg/m³ from 45, 60, 80 100 and 140. The easiest way to understand which one to choose would be to assume the higher the density the better the overall level of soundproofing.
We would recommend the 80kg/m³ as this offers the best sound insulation for the money spent. If you want to discuss the best solution for your space, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
