Noisestop F7+ combines three layers of acoustic materials. A layer of 5mm 9lb chip foam, a layer of 5mm mass loaded vinyl 10kg/m² and a layer of 5mm, 9lb chip foam. The properties of this product reduce high levels of impact noise that can transmit through timber and concrete floor constructions.

  • 15mm x 1200mm x 600mm (0.72m²)
  • Reduces high levels of impact noise
  • Part E compliant
  • Used over timber and concrete floors
  • Use below hard floor finishes
Acoustic Performance of Noisestop F7+

Noisestop F7+ will ensure your floors meet current Part E Building Regulation guidelines. To complete you installation use DFM acoustic insulation, soundbreaker bars and two layers of acoustic plasterboard.

Building Regulations require impact levels to be below the stated figure and the airborne levels to be above the figure stated.

Noisestop F7+ Performance
  • Impact
    • 49dB – Part E requires figure below 62dB
  • Airborne
    • 47dB – Part E requires figure above 42dB

Stated figures are with a typical part ‘e’ compliant ceiling installed below. For higher levels of soundproofing you can use Ceiling System 2.

Fitting the Noisestop F7+

Noisestop F7+ is quick and easy to install. You will need a sharp knife or heavy duty scissors. Some remedial work may be needed to the floor before you fit the products. Fill any gaps or holes with AC50 acoustic sealant. Lay the Noisestop F7+ across the floor in a brick bond pattern. There is no requirement to fix these sheets to the floor for domestic soundproofing. If you are working with in Building Regulations you will need to bond the mats to the floor using a floor grade adhesive. The Noisestop F7+ is cut to shape using a sharp knife or scissors.

Use Noisestop F7+ Below Solid Floor Finishes

The Noisestop F7+ is our recommended product for use below solid floor finishes. Laminates, engineered flooring and tiled floors usually produce more impact noise than a floor with a carpet. If you use the Noisestop F7+ below this type of floor you will stop the impact noise transferring into the floor.

Use Noisestop F7+ and DFM Acoustic Insulation on Timber Floors

If you are soundproofing a timber floor you can increase the airborne soundproofing by using 100mm DFM acoustic insulation. We recommend the DFM 100mm/80kg/m³ for optimum soundproofing. If you are soundproofing a separating floor for Part ‘e’ acoustic insulation should be used between the floor joists, the minimum requirement is 100mm/45kg/m³.

Noisestop F7+ can been used to comply with leases that state only carpets or equivalent can be used in flats, when used below solid floor finishes it will be equal to or better than the acoustic performance required in these cases.

Floor soundproofing acoustic underlay mats for domestic and commercial floors

Noisestop Systems F7+ is an acoustic underlay that can be used over any floor type. Noisestop F7 is suitable for use in domestic and commercial applications. Reduce impact and airborne noise, conversation and TV noise transferring through timber sub floors. Part ’e’ complaint when installed as part of a separating floor construction.

Fitting Noisestop F7+

Acoustic underlay mats should be laid in a brick bond pattern on the floor. When you are fitting the mats make sure you don’t leave gaps between them. Ensure the matting is tightly butted together.

Use a Stanley knife or sharp scissors to cut the soundproof matting to fit the shape of your room.

Fitting Noisestop F7+ below hard floor finishes

Noisestop F7+ is suitable for fitting below solid floor finishes like laminates, engineered flooring and tiled floors. The matting should be fitted without the perimeter strips; the matting is butted up to the wall or skirting board. If you are leaving an expansion gap for the floor finish ensure the gap is sealed with a flexible acoustic sealant. If your flooring is thicker than 15mm you should be able to fit the flooring straight on to the acoustic underlay. If it is less than 15mm we would recommend adding a resilient layer of ply wood or hard board over the underlay before you lay the floor finish. A 9mm resilient layer is the standard depth used. Please check this with the flooring company that are supplying or fitting your floor finish. If you are laying carpet tiles and vinyl flooring you should use the resilient layer below the floor finish. The resilient layer should be bonded to the acoustic underlay with a floor grade adhesive.

Fitting Noisestop F7+ below carpet

Noisestop F7+ should be combined with perimeter edging strips around the room if you are using a carpet underlay over the soundproof mat. If you are not using a carpet underlay and grippers you will not need to use the edging strips.

Perimeter strips should be nailed or glued to the floor before you install the gripper rods. The gripper rods are then nailed on to the perimeter strips. The Noisestop F7+ is then laid in a brick bond pattern over the floor. Ensure that no gaps are left between the acoustic mats and the perimeter strips and between the acoustic matting sheets.

Fitting Noisestop F7+ to stairs

Fitting the Noisestop F7+ to the stairs should be combined with perimeter strips. The strips are nailed or glued in pace before the gripper rods are attached. Once you have cut the mats to size they should be glued in pace with a floor grade adhesive.

Complying with Building Regulations

If you are fitting an acoustic underlay in order to comply with Building Regulations you will need to fix the mats to the sub floor with a floor grade adhesive.

There is no requirement to fix this product to the sub floor if you are carrying out any other domestic or commercial applications. Unless you are carrying out work to comply with the Building Regulations you do not need to fix the acoustic underlay to the floor.

Fitting Noisestop F7+ in kitchens and bathrooms

When you are installing an acoustic underlay in kitchens and bathrooms the units should not be sat on the matting. To ensure the correct floor heights the units should be sat on ply wood or MDF sheet, this will ensure the same floor height throughout. In kitchens lay the acoustic mats up to the kitchen plinth; lay the underlay below the units to reduce airborne sound transfer. For bathrooms ensure toilets and sinks are raised to ensure the correct floor height.

Please note

We would always recommend that you check with your flooring company to check the suitability of the final floor finish with any acoustic underlay. Due to the number of different floor finishes available it is not always possible to check the suitability of the product with every floor finish.

How will my order be delivered?

The majority of orders we despatch are sent on pallets. We use a network of pallet distribution companies across the UK. All our pallet deliveries are kerbside deliveries. This means the pallet will be delivered as near to the delivery address as possible. Pallets are unloaded form the vehicles with a pallet truck. If it is possible the pallets can be dropped on driveways if they are accessible with the pallet truck.

Pallet deliveries are normally made on 7.5 tonne vehicles that are similar in size to bin lorries. Occasionally larger vehicles are used. If you know of any reason why it might be difficult to deliver to your address with this type of vehicle please let us so we can pass the information on to the delivery company. Typical delivery problems can include parking restrictions, access issues for certain size vehicles, low bridges and overhanging trees. Call 01423 339163 if you are unsure.

Unfortunately the delivery drivers will not bring the goods into your property or unload the individual items from the pallets.

Many of our items are heavy and often require two people to carry them safely.

All orders sent on pallets are wrapped and secured to the pallet to protect them while in transit. Once you have received your order we would recommend storing the materials inside. If you are planning on leaving your goods outside you should use additional covering to protect them from any adverse weather conditions.

Damaged or missing items

In the unfortunate event that items are damaged or missing when your order arrives you should sign damaged or missing items on the drivers paperwork. Call 01423339163 to let us know of the issue to allow us to quickly rectify the problem.

We might ask for a picture of the damage, this is to speed up the process of arranging a suitable solution.

To enable us to quickly resolve any issues with your delivery it is important that you sign for your delivery when it arrives.

Returns

Can I return items from my order? Yes you can return unused items from your order that are in a salable condition. We can arrange to collect any unused materials and have them brought back to us. We would refund the cost of the items returned back to us less the shipping cost incurred by the company collecting the items. The cost to return the goods would be confirmed at the point of arranging the return. The refund would be paid once the goods have been brought back and have been checked at our warehouse.

Alternatively you can arrange to return the materials back to us and we would issue a refund once they have been received.

Special delivery note if you order soundbreaker bars as part of a wall or ceiling kit

If you order a wall or ceiling soundproofing kit that include soundbreaker bars these will be delivered separately from the pallet. we are not able to despatch the bars with the pallet. The soundbreaker bars are too long to go with the pallet so they will be delivered separately. No additional charges are incurred for the separate deliveries. We try to ensure the pallet and the bars arrive on the same day, occasionally this might not happen. Normally both deliveries are made within 24 hours of each other.

*All prices displayed are exclusive of VAT @ 20%. This will be added at the end of the checkout process before you confirm your order.

If you require any additional information regarding deliveries please give us a call 01423 339163, alternatively get in touch via our contacts page.

Do I need to glue the product to the floor?

Answer: You don't have to glue Noisestop F7+ to the floor unless you are complying with current Party 'e' Building Regulations. If you are carrying out general floor soundproofing you don't need to fix the product down.

Can I use Noisestop F7+ over any type of floor?

Answer: This acoustic underlay can be laid over any type of sub floor. Use the Noisestop F7+ over concrete and timber flooring.

Can I lay hard floor finishes over this product?

Answer: This product is suitable for hard floor finishes. If you are laying thin laminate flooring over the product we would recommend using a minimum of 9mm ply over the product. this will protect the floor finish in case of movement in the floor. If your flooring is less than 15mm thick you should consider using a sheet material over the F7+. You can nail through the product if required, the composition of the F7+ will stop sound transfer through the fixings.

Is the material easy to cut?

Answer: You can cut this product with a stanley knife or a sharp pair of scissors.

Can I use this product with my under floor heating?

Answer: If you are installing your under floor heating system at the same time as the soundproof flooring you should put the heating system over the soundproofing. Soundproof underlays would block and absorb the heat as it tries to pass through the material. The soundproofing would have the same noise reduction below the heating system. We would recommend you speak to the floor heating company before any work commences
