Perimeter strips to enable carpet grippers and underlay to be used in conjunction with acoustic underlays. This strip combines plywood strips and a barrier mat to ensure additional protection when gripper rods are being used for carpets. Combine with either Noisestop F7 or Noisestop F7+.
Perimeter strips are nailed or glued around the perimeter of the room with the black barrier layer facing down. Carpet gripper rods are then nailed in place on the top of the perimeter strip, raising them to the correct height to take the carpet. Acoustic underlay panels are tightly butted up to the perimeter strip, and loose laid in brick bond pattern onto the existing floorboards.
Utmost care should be taken to ensure that no gaps occur between the panels. In some situations it may be necessary to bond the acoustic mats to the sub-floor to comply with Building Regulation Approved Document E (2003).
